Charles River Conservancy

Charles River ConservancyClassic assists the Charles River Conservancy, a non-profit organization dedicated to the stewardship and renewal of the Charles River Parklands and their parks, parkways and bridges, with their annual gala reception held in conjunction with RiverSing, an annual celebration on the banks of Boston’s famed Charles River.

EcoLogic

Ecologic Development FundThe EcoLogic Development Fund is a Cambridge-based, nonprofit organization that has provided direct assistance to more than 5,000 poor rural communities in Latin America who serve as stewards to over six million acres of ecologically rich habitat. Classic was hired to assist EcoLogic with its 15th Anniversary Celebration at the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology in Cambridge.

Greenlock Therapeutic Riding Center

Greenlock Therapeutic Riding Center Classic Communications was hired to plan and manage a gala 20th Anniversary Celebration for Greenlock Therapeutic Riding Center, Inc., a non-profit organization that utilizes equine-related activities for the therapy of individuals with physical, developmental and emotional differences.

 

International Penguin Conference

International Penguin Conference Classic Communications has been hired to coordinate all aspects of event management for the 7th International Penguin Conference that will take place in Boston in the summer of 2010. Hosted by the New England Aquarium, the IPC, being held in the Northern Hemisphere for the first time, will bring together 250-300 scientists from all over the world.

Rhode Island People’s Power & Light

Rhode Island People’s Power & Light Classic provides event management services for the Rhode Island non-profit that offers green energy and discount oil programs to Rhode Island residents. After managing the organization’s 5-year anniversary celebration, Classic assumed responsibility for coordinating other RIPPL events including its annual meeting and member and public events such as its Portsmouth Abbey Wind Turbine Festival.

Run of the Charles Canoe & Kayak Race, Boston, Massachusetts

Charles River Watershed AssociationOn behalf of the Charles River Watershed Association (CRWA), the nation’s oldest and largest watershed association, Classic handles all aspects of event management for the annual Run of the Charles Canoe & Kayak Race. With 1,500-1,800 participants each year, the Run of the Charles is one of North America’s largest canoe/kayak events.  Classic manages all race registration, recruitment and coordination of the 100-125 volunteers, permitting, vendor contracts, marketing, publicity and promotion, and individual site management for 11 locations through seven towns along 24 miles of river. Classic also manages the race’s “Finish Line Festival” at a public park in Boston with booths and exhibits, food, music and awards ceremonies.

Earth Night

Earth NightClassic coordinates and promotes Earth Night, Boston’s largest annual environmental fundraiser held for the benefit of the Environmental League of Massachusetts (ELM). Held at Boston’s spectacular new Convention and Exhibition Center, Earth Night is ELM’s single biggest fundraiser with revenues generated through sponsorships, ticket sales, live and silent auctions and fees for participation in the event’s “Earth Fair,” an exposition created by Classic featuring a mix of interactive exhibits from an assortment of environmentally-oriented companies and organizations. In Classic’s first year managing Earth Night, attendance and profitability more than doubled from the previous year.

AltWheels

AltWheelsClassic is deeply involved in the planning, organization and promotion of AltWheels, a three-day alternative transportation and energy festival in the Boston area. Presenting alternatives to traditional means of transportation that rely on fossil fuels, AltWheels displays dozens of vehicles with the participation of more than 70 organizations. In addition, AltWheels features a day-long seminar and diverse panel discussions on clean transportation and alternatives to fossil fuel vehicles. In Classic’s first year, AltWheels brought in its first corporate sponsorship and saw its attendance increase by 75%. Classic has continued to help AltWheels grow and helped coordinate the event’s move to City Hall Plaza in downtown Boston.

New Energy for America

New Energy for America Held in Boston during the 2004 Democratic National Convention, New Energy for America featured a star-studded panel and attracted more than 600 attendees. Classic helped plan and organize the event that served as a call for a national investment in a clean-energy economy, and had primary responsibility for event logistics. With Democratic Senate and House Leaders Tom Daschle and Nancy Pelosi as Honorary Co-Chairs, New Energy for America featured a panel that included two U.S. Senators, two U.S. Representatives, two governors, four union presidents, a former cabinet member and a former White House Chief of Staff.

Massachusetts Hydrogen Coalition

Massachusetts Hydrogen CoalitionAs part of the service it provided to the Massachusetts Hydrogen Coalition for its 2006 Massachusetts Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Summit, Classic handled development and distribution of general communications, advance and on-site registrations, and production of event materials.

Show Jumping Hall of Fame and Museum, Inc.

Show Jumping Hall of Fame and MuseumTo promote and raise funds for the Show Jumping Hall of Fame and Museum, Inc., Classic manages the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series, one of the nation’s largest series of equestrian competitions. The Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jumper Classic Series includes events at more than 100 horse shows across the country in addition to year-end championship finals in the series’ two divisions at the National Horse Show in West Palm Beach, Florida.
